SOMEONE TO COME TO YOUR RESCUE
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
Life can be hard sometimes. You take chances that end in disappointment. You let people in and they inevitably reject or hurt you. You invest in opportunities that only result in defeat. It seems like you are always breaking and failing. And that’s just you. Never mind the massive amount of brokenness and pain you see throughout your neighborhood, city, and world.
If you are looking for rescue, look no further.
Life has a way of breaking you down. But I am always here to come to your rescue. There is no payment required for my aid. Your dues were paid when I sent my son to take your place on the cross.
And as Jesus hung on the cross in your place, He bled for your shortcomings. He took His last breath in exchange for your brokenness. And He brings healing.
I sent my son so that you could find forgiveness, joy, and purpose for your life.
I am the One who is capable of healing and fixing all that is wrong in this world. And I long to restore your broken heart. No matter how many times you need it — no matter how many breaks and tears and mess-ups you’ve had — I am here for you.
I am waiting to restore you… just as soon as you ask.
I do not judge you for the wrong you’ve committed or the shameful things in your past. Instead, when you believe in me and in my son, I simply forgive you.

Read the passage in John 4:4-26 of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well. He speaks of her past and her immorality, but does not condemn her and instead offers her “living water” that she may never thirst again. He showed compassion and love to someone who thought she was undeserving of either. He wanted to heal her, just as He longs to heal you.
